Eight months is such a good age to photograph. Babies are sitting, interacting, playing, and giving you so many different expressions. Their personality is really starting to show, but they still have all those little baby details that change so quickly. Nirvaan came to my Santa Clarita studio for his 8-month milestone session, and this is exactly why I love photographing this stage. He was curious about everything, played with a little wooden toy, gave me the sweetest smiles, and had so many different expressions throughout his session. All of the outfits you see in these photos are from my studio baby wardrobe. I have a collection of outfits from newborn size through about 18 months, so parents don't have to worry about shopping for something specifically for the session. A lot of moms tell me how much they appreciate being able to arrive at the studio and have everything ready for their baby. We kept the session light and neutral with minimal props, photographed Nirvaan sitting and playing, captured some close-up portraits, and let him move around and be himself. This is what I love about milestone sessions. At this age, the baby is the story. The sitter stage, usually somewhere between 6 and 9 months, is one of my favorite milestones to capture. Sitting soon turns into crawling, pulling up, standing, and eventually those first steps. There is such a small window to photograph this particular version of your baby. Eight months may feel like just another month in the first year, but it is a stage you don't get back. Ready to capture your baby’s next milestone? If your baby is sitting independently, it’s a perfect time for a milestone session. My Santa Clarita studio includes a baby wardrobe with outfits from newborn through about 18 months.
