A Customized Maternity Photoshoot in Santa Clarita | Janet's Elegant Studio Maternity Session

One of my favorite parts of Janet's maternity session was designing it specifically around her vision.
Before every session, I talk with my clients about the style they love, the colors they are drawn to, and the types of portraits they hope to have. Every pregnancy is different, and every family has a unique story, so I never believe in a one-size-fits-all maternity session.

Janet is expecting a baby girl, so she wanted to incorporate soft pink into her session. We created a beautiful look using flowing blush fabric that added gentle movement and complemented the excitement of welcoming her daughter. The soft pink tones created a delicate, feminine feel while keeping the portrait elegant and timeless.

She also wanted the classic look of a long, flowing maternity gown. We chose a white off-the-shoulder dress with an extended train that beautifully highlighted her baby bump while creating a graceful, sophisticated portrait. The simplicity of the dress kept the focus exactly where it belonged—on Janet and the incredible journey into motherhood.

For her third look, we created something a little different. Using luxurious satin fabric, we added movement and texture to create a more dramatic, artistic portrait. The flowing fabric transformed a simple pose into an elegant image with depth and dimension, giving her gallery even more variety.

Although each outfit looked completely different, they all shared the same timeless style. Together, they told the story Janet wanted to remember—her excitement, her anticipation, and the joy of waiting for her baby girl.

That is why I customize every maternity session. Some mothers prefer light and airy portraits, others love dramatic fabrics or fine art-inspired images. Some want to include their partners and children, while others want to celebrate this chapter on their own.
