Christian Turns Three | Birthday Photography in Santa Clarita

Christian is three!
I’ve photographed Christian every year, and one thing that has stayed consistent is the style his parents choose for his birthday photos. They love clean, minimal setups, so we kept his third birthday session very much in that style.

A white studio, his everyday clothes, a few neutral details, and Christian.

At three, there’s already so much more personality to photograph than there was during those earlier sessions. We started with some simple portraits and then let him get comfortable on the couch. We added a teddy bear with a tiny number three birthday hat and kept everything else very neutral.

I like that his parents have stayed with a similar clean look each year. When you put his birthday photos together, you notice Christian changing instead of the sets changing around him.

And that is what makes photographing the same child year after year so interesting to me. Every time he comes back, he is still Christian, but I get a completely different little person in front of my camera.
