Ivy Turns Two | Birthday Photography in Santa Clarita

I first photographed Ivy when she was a newborn, and now she was back in my Santa Clarita studio for her second birthday photos.

This is one of my favorite parts of photographing the same children over the years. I remember them as tiny newborns sleeping through their first session, and then suddenly they are back in the studio walking, talking, laughing and showing me their personalities.

For Ivy’s second birthday, we kept everything light and clean with a soft pink dress, white background and a few white balloons. At two, I don’t expect children to stand still and pose for every photo. We play, move around and give them time to get comfortable. Some of my favorite photographs are usually the little expressions that happen in between.

I especially love the close-up portraits from Ivy’s session. That little smile and all of her different expressions are exactly what I want her parents to remember about her at this age.

It’s pretty special to look back at her newborn photos and then see this little two-year-old standing in front of my camera.
