There’s something so special about spring maternity sessions—the soft light, fresh greenery, and that quiet feeling of anticipation in the air. These beautiful soon-to-be parents knew from the very beginning that they wanted an outdoor maternity session. They envisioned something natural, calm, and surrounded by soft golden tones—and this location in Santa Clarita was the perfect match. Planning the SessionAbout a week before their session, they came into my studio to prepare. One of my favorite parts of the experience is helping my clients choose outfits from my studio wardrobe so everything feels effortless on the day of the session.
We took our time trying a few options, and together we selected two looks that felt just right—soft, romantic, and perfectly suited for the outdoor setting. Having this time to plan ahead makes such a difference. It allows the session itself to feel relaxed, natural, and focused on connection rather than decisions. The Session ExperienceOn the day of the session, we met in a beautiful open field just before sunset. The light was soft and glowing, and the tall grass added the perfect dreamy texture to every image. They were so easy to photograph—laughing, connecting, and simply enjoying the moment together. My approach is always to gently guide while allowing space for natural interactions, and that’s exactly what made this session feel so genuine. From quiet moments of anticipation to joyful smiles and laughter, every image reflects this special chapter in their lives. Why Choose an Outdoor Maternity SessionOutdoor maternity sessions are perfect for families who love a natural, organic feel. The combination of soft light, open space, and movement creates images that feel timeless and full of life. When paired with thoughtfully chosen wardrobe pieces, the result is a cohesive, elegant look that photographs beautifully. A Note for Expecting MomsIf you’re thinking about booking your maternity session, I recommend scheduling between 28–32 weeks. This is when your belly is beautifully visible, but you’re still comfortable enough to move and enjoy the experience. Planning your wardrobe ahead of time and choosing a location that reflects your style will make your session feel effortless and truly personal. If you’re dreaming of a maternity session like this, I would love to help you plan it from start to finish. 📍 Santa Clarita maternity photographer Serving Los Angeles & surrounding areas Comments are closed.
