Violet’s 3rd Birthday | Santa Clarita Birthday Photographer

I get to see Violet twice a year. Once for her birthday photos in my Santa Clarita studio, and again in the fall when I photograph her whole family.

For her third birthday, we kept her session very light and clean. A soft pink dress, white background, a few balloons, and plenty of room for Violet to be herself.

And she definitely did.

At three years old, sitting perfectly and smiling at the camera isn't really the goal. We started with a few more traditional portraits, but then she was lying on the floor, laughing, making faces, moving around and playing with the fabric. Those ended up being some of my favorite photographs from her session because they really show her personality at three.

One thing I especially appreciate about Violet's family is that they print their photographs. After their sessions, they order framed prints from me for their home. Each year we're not just adding more digital images to a gallery. We're adding another little piece of their family's history to their walls.

And I'll get to see how much she's changed again at their next fall session.
