Sixteen days old baby D. I photographed his cousins a little bit more than a year ago. They were handsome twin boys. It means a lot to me when my clients refer me to their friends and relatives. Thank you!!!!!
Natural light in-home newborn session in Simi Valley, CA. I absolutely love these moments of connection, love and joy that I captured during this family session.
I did Adria's newborn session and maternity session for her mom. Now, it was time for her First Birthday session. Her parents decided to do a family/first birthday combo session. Park is a good choice to have a family session because there’s plenty of room for kids to explore and play. It is not easy to force children to sit still, look at the camera, and smile. Genuine interactions are the memories we all treasure most. ![]() It was so nice to do this Halloween mini session after so many newborn sessions in a row. I almost forgot how I enjoy photographing children.
I always plan on taking a lot of photos of my child on Halloween before he goes out trick or treating, but I get so busy and usually fail! This mini session is a perfect chance to make sure to capture these memories before Halloween. October Special: $175 for 12 edited digital images. I am introducing a " Sit and Smile” sessions. Your baby is now full of personality and loves to play and interact. These sessions tend to get the best from their personalities. These sessions are best done at around 6 -8 months when they are sitting but not walking yet. Sit & Smile sessions can be done in a park or at your home. Event Photography / Shelby’s Sweet 16 Party at the Sand Canyon Country Club in Santa Clarita, CA10/5/2019 Turning sixteen is a special moment in a teenager’s life and it should be celebrated with a super fun birthday party. This sweet sixteen party at Sand Canyon Country Club in Santa Clarita, CA was full of beautiful black & white details. Shelby's mom contacting me in May to inquire about my event photography packages. After she hired me to document her daughter's birthday party in October, I asked her these two questions: How did she find me? Why did she hire me? Her answer was: 'I saw you through Yelp. I read a lot of reviews when searching out a business. I reach out to several businesses. And I make a big decision on how well they correspond and answer questions etc. (professionalism and candor). You checked all my boxes :) Also, I love that you’re a mom and your passion created a business. We are small business owners and I know how important it is to support others." Thank you, Cindy, for trusting me! Baby Maxim parents came from Russia to have him in Los Angels. They wanted to use only black and white backdrop fabrics for this ALL ABOUT A BABY session. Here are some of my favorite images from their newborn session. Are you pregnant? Thinking about scheduling a newborn photo session? Contact me at zammphotography@gmail.com.
Every time I arrive at my client's house for a newborn session, I think to myself I'm am so lucky to be doing something I love. I am so lucky to meet wonderful families and their newborn babies. I am lucky to be able to capture amazing memories for these families!
It is very important for me that parents stay next to their babies during my newborn sessions. I never ask mothers to stay further away from baby as is sometimes requested by other photographers due to the idea that the smell of mother’s milk will cause the baby to become unsettled. If the baby show signs of hunger such as the rooting that can occur when they sense and smell their mother, they are given appropriate time to feed. A satisfied baby will not be unsettled due to the smell of milk and it is better to have an extra set of hands close by than not.
This natural light in-home newborn session was done in a small apartment in Chatsworth. I don't need studio light and a lot of space to capture beautiful images of my little clients. Babies are so tiny for such a short period of time, and capturing that is so special. I get to take a moment in time and make it last forever. That is priceless. Hope you enjoyed viewing these images! If you would like more information on having a portrait session of your own, please contact me here
What to wear for maternity session?
For your maternity photo session wear comfortable shoes, and if you would like to wear heels for any part of the session then bring them along in a bag. I can recommend to wear a long, clingy dress in a solid color but don’t be afraid to use patterns as well! You should wear clothes that make you feel beautiful and show off your belly. Snug (but not too tight!) outfits are better than loose ones. If the outfit is too loose, your belly won’t be well defined and the photos will be less flattering. For Dad-to-Be and/or siblings, coordinate your wardrobe instead of matching. Selecting complimentary colors is a great way to go. Neutral shades in muted tones photograph beautifully for a timeless look. Or think warm or cool tones in varying shades of the same color. If you love patterns, be sure they complement your overall color scheme and style. There is nothing sweeter than photographing a happy, chubby-cheeked two-week-old newborn baby. It was an in-home petite newborn session. Here are some of my favorite photos from our time together as well as my answer to the most popular question:
What do I need to do to prepare for a newborn session? After your baby arrives and before your session, I will send you a confirmation email with some tips on how to prepare for your session. I will bring everything you will need for your newborn session: a newborn posing beanbag, background fabrics, a basket or two, blankets, wraps, hats, and headbands. So there really isn’t much you need to prepare; however, the pictures will hold a different meaning if we utilize your hats, blankets, or other props you wanted to include in the picture. |
